Fling Chune FRIDAY: Yes

Happy Friday, y'all! :o) I'm so excited... and I just can't hide it! Why?? Just because God brought me through yet another work week.

So lemme ask you [female readers] this: How's your boobage? Yes--I'm talkin' bout ya breastesses; aka "boobs", "ta-tas", "girls", "twins"... whatever you wanna call 'em. How are they feeling nowadays? Not spending much quality time with them? Unfortunately, neither am I.

OK, take a moment to wipe this look off your face... I'll wait.

Now here's the deal. October is breast cancer awareness month and, to my knowledge, most of my readers have breasts--guys, if you're out there, this is a good time to make your presence known.  But because so many women have been and continue to be affected by this disease, I wanted to dedicate this Friday's chune to a worthy cause.  So here's my piece: please do your self-breast exams and/or get your annual mammogram! (And that's me being a hypocrite because I treat my self-exams like flossing... occasionally.) But I plan to create a monthly alarm to remind me to do it--for my own well-being.

Also, to get Black women's attention to the issue--since we are disproportionately affected by breast cancer compared to women of other ethnicities--Musiq Soulchild is now serving as "Ambassador for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Circle of Promise, a movement designed to further engage black women around the globe in the fight against breast cancer."  His new music video depicts one such struggle from the perspective of the man who loves her, and I can honestly say that I haven't been as emotionally touched by a video since Aaron Hall's I Miss You.

So, with no further ado and in tribute to breast cancer patients, survivors and martyrs everywhere, here is Yes.

  3. He consistently puts out good music, and by good I mean thoughtful, creative and uplifting. You just know that this song touched so many people, and gave so many women hope.

    Great chune:)!
